Fitness Friday

I skipped last week’s Fitness Friday post as I was up half the night Thursday working on a charm display for a florist and had a crazy full day on Friday, but I’m back this week! Since we’re approaching the end of January (how is that even possible?!) and this is the last Friday of the month, I thought I’d check in on how you’re all doing with the fitness goals you set! I’ve seen several of you posting photos on Instagram and/or updates on Twitter, which is so exciting – I hope you’re as proud of yourselves for sticking with it as I am of you!

Not long ago I was contacted by a blog reader about a graphic she’d been working on which totally fit with my post(s) on goal setting. I took a look at it and thought the statistics were so interesting – It truly is SUCH an accomplishment to stick with goals you’ve set for yourself, and the benefits are huge!

I feel like that information can either be depressing or motivating, depending on how you look at it! Hopefully you’re all still pushing toward your goals, and if you’re not, maybe take the time to reevaluate, write them down, and try again!

As for me, I’ve been working hard in the gym and have been planning meals/cooking more.. I’ve got a certain photoshoot this Saturday (for someone’s Valentine’s Day present!) that I’m working my booty off for! Can’t wait to ‘document’ my hard work over the last 14 months! :) {And don’t worry, he never reads my blog. Ha.}

Let me know how you’re doing on your goals in a comment or through email – I love hearing from you! And if you haven’t entered my giveaway for an awesome Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetie, be sure to do that, too! Happy Friday!

  2. Yeahh, I haven't been too great on my goals. I have been trying to eat better and have been pretty good with my calories, but we had some major things going on in the beginning of the month which totally put me off track.

  4. I always tell people that it doesn't need to be a new year for new goals and resolutions to start. And I remember last year, writing a post about how instead of complaining about the "new years resolutioners" who were joining the gym, to instead applaud them for even trying. The graphics don't surprise me at all.

    Thankfully I'm a list maker - maybe this make me reach my goal of winning the lotto happen sooner. ;)

  5. I am definitely a list person, and get quite a bit of enjoyment from crossing things off of my list. I think that keeps me very motivated, and I am loving the graphic you posted that reinforces that! Have fun on your photo shoot - and I think that is an awesome thing to work towards!

  6. I'm so glad I started working on losing weight before the new year (and after it, in March last year)!
    I've plateaued in my weight loss so I've been working on changing up my workout! I've done weights for 3 out of my 4 gym trips this week (and I hate weights so that's a big step for me!) and trying classes; today I did yoga!

  8. I have been doing pretty good with my goals. I bought the same heart rate monitor as you have and have been taking pics and posting them to Instagram. It really keeps me motivated and maybe it helps someone else too. I haven't lost much weight bout can tell my body has changed!
