This Weekend I…

I’m pretty positive weekends fly by faster and faster each week. We didn’t even have any major plans this weekend, and somehow it was here and gone before we knew it! We’ve got a crazy week ahead of us and will be out of town next weekend visiting David’s brother and his wife and their twin girls, so I’m sure time won’t be slowing down anytime soon!

This weekend I… started things off early and took my sweet momma to the gym Friday just before lunch. She’s been wanting to get healthier but has been scared of walking into the gym by herself and not knowing what she’s doing. I basically just showed her where everything is, how all the machines work, and came up with a routine for her. And then we stopped by Old Navy to check out their active wear sale and had a yummy lunch at Noodles & Co!

This weekend I… got a little work done after lunch and a shower and then went to pick up one of my Young Lives girls for an ice cream date. I took her to Orange Leaf (she’d never been!) and we had a great talk – I love getting to build those relationships!

This weekend I… went to a black light Zumba event Friday evening with a couple friends! If you’ve never tried Zumba and are scared of being embarrassed, a black light class is the perfect solution – It’s dark so people can hardly see you, and it’s so fun!

This weekend I… had wine night with the girls and David had beer club with the guys Friday evening. One of our friends is pregnant and due in the next couple weeks, so it was fun to see her and talk about the baby who will be here before we know it!

This weekend I… tried a new Turbokick class on Saturday morning with one of the friends I did black light Zumba with. I ended up doing TurboFire later in the day with David before our date night, so I got my fill of kicking/punching/jumping around this weekend! ;)

This weekend I… fiiiinally made it to Victoria’s Secret for their Semi-Annual Sale! I was long overdue on some new bras that actually fit, so I finally got measured and ended up getting 3 bras and several pairs of cuuute underwear for like $60! A few of them will come in handy for a certain photo shoot I have in a couple weeks.. ;) (Good thing my husband never reads my blog!)

This weekend we… had a date night Saturday evening! We have several gift cards from Christmas so we used one of them at a small cafe downtown for dinner. We thought about going to a movie after (only because we have movie passes – we’re too cheap for full price movie tickets!) but ended up finishing decorating David’s office instead since he has coworkers from the UK coming into town today. We did stop for dessert at a local donut shop – and I thoroughly enjoyed my strawberry streusel donut! – and then watch a movie while snuggling on the couch afterward, though. Movies are so much better in yoga pants, anyway!

This weekend we… went to church and lunch with my family on Sunday. I can’t even tell you how much I love our church – I’m already sad that we’re missing next week since we’ll be out of town!

{I loved this outfit! I got that dress on clearance for $5 at Old Navy and love the fit and how comfy it is, and I’m in love with my new boot socks!}

This weekend we… spent the rest of Sunday afternoon finally putting away all of our Christmas stuff, doing 5 (I know, ridiculous!) loads of laundry, and cleaning the entire house. Not the most fun way to spend the day, but it needed to be done and everything feels so uncluttered now! (And it didn’t hurt that I burned 500+ calories doing it, ha.)

{Don’t let me buy anymore scarves!}

This weekend we… ran some errands, took David’s sister to volleyball practice, and caught up on work and emails Sunday evening. I love having all of our laundry done and the house clean to start the week!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Happy Monday!

  14. Hi, new follower here (linked up from Stephanie Wolfe's page at The Vintage Modern Wife). In love with the blog already! (I might be biased...my name's Laura and I live in Kansas, too. :) Where did you get your heart rate monitor/calorie counter? I think I would love to have that instead of those dumb counters on the machines at the gym! :) Thanks, and I look forward to reading more of your posts!
