So, I’m just a few days late on this, but we had such a fun weekend last weekend that I still wanted to recap it! I mentioned I thought it would be pretty relaxed, but it kind of ended up being anything but. I loved it, though!
Friday I made sure to get in a good workout at the gym because it was National Margarita Day! We had plans to meet up with friends at one of the local mexican restaurants which meant chips and salsa and margaritas, so a good workout was needed. Speaking of, I’m planning Fitness Friday posts so I can get them scheduled – What are you interested in seeing/reading? A link-up is stilllll in the works. It will be worth the wait, promise! :)

{It’s crazy what an effect diet has on muscle definition – I hadn’t eaten well at all last week, and you can hardly see my abs. I took the below picture Tuesday and the difference is crazy!}
Anyway! Friday evening was such a blast – It ended up being about 12 of our friends and we had a great time. I love random nights that end up being hilarious and fun!

Saturday called for another intense workout after all of the carbs and sugar (and I’m guessing the tequila didn’t help either) consumed the night before, and I braved the snow to hit the gym. I ran into my brother which is always nice because he pushes me without even knowing it – I can’t have my baby brother lifting 4 times as much as me! (Yes, this happens. Regularly. He’s huge and I’ll sneak a picture of him one of these days.)

I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up around the house and doing more prep work for the bridal show next weekend. Evening rolled around and it was time to get ready for the mardi gras themed YWCA fundraiser we had that night! I decided to do something new with my makeup, but the front facing iPhone camera sucks, so you can’t really tell. Oh, and Pais made sure to get in our timer photo.

{My husband is a hottie. Just throwin’ that out there.}
After the event, I met up with a few high school friends including one who was in town from KC and had just gotten engaged the week before! It was fun to catch up and hear about her wedding plans – Their August wedding will be here before we know it!

Sunday we usually meet my family for lunch, but a couple from church had asked us to go to lunch with them, so we were planning on that. It ended up falling through, and we’d already planned to do dinner with my family instead, so we went to a little diner downtown just the two of us and talked about the sermon, what we’re learning in our quiet times, and different beliefs on baptism and communion. I love that we’re able to have deep, meaningful conversations and that we can challenge each other spiritually!

The rest of Sunday was spent catching up on work, preparing for the week, and staying inside to avoid the second round of the blizzard of Oz. It was pretty for awhile, but since I work from home and don’t get snow days, I was over it pretty quickly. I’m ready for spring, even though snow makes for some pretty pictures!

Thanks for listening to me ramble about our weekend happenings from a whole 5 days ago. On the bright side, it’s already Friday and time for another one! This time we have beer club and wine night this evening and then will be in Lawrence all day tomorrow for David’s sister’s volleyball tournament. I get to meet a new blog/Twitter/Instagram friend, though, so that should be fun! :) Yay for another Laura Kansas blogger! Happy Friday! {How is it already March?! So crazy!}
You're doing great with the workouts! I also love that you and your husband talk about the sermons.
